Burnt Crust Pottery: White Speckle Rice Bowl

Nichola Gensler (of Burnt Crust Pottery) makes functional wheel-thrown pottery from her studio in Sheffield, at Yorkshire Artspace.

Nichola started making pottery after a career in the hospitality industry. Initially working as a chef, then pastry chef and then baker, she set up and ran a busy London bakery for almost 10 years.

- Thrown using stoneware clay and a small amount of wild clay. Glazed with white glaze, extra iron spangles and fired in reduction in a gas kiln.
- They are microwave and dishwasher safe, though I do recommend they are washed by hand wherever possible.
