David Smith: Sculpture 1932-1965 was published by Yorkshire Sculpture Park to celebrate and document this exceptional exhibition.

Replete with in situ photography by Jonty Wilde, the catalogue reveals the development of Smith's practice and unique visual language over a 30 year period from his earliest three-dimensional works through to the bold, large-scale painted and stainless steel sculptures from the 1960s. Stunning open air shots show the relationship of Smith's works to the surrounding landscape, as he enjoying observing them.

The catalogue features essays by the artist's daughter Candida Smith; British artist Phyllida Barlow, CBE, RA; Dr Robert Slifkin, Associate Professor of Fine Arts at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University; Dr Jyrki Siukonen, Visiting Research Fellow at the University of the Arts, Helsinki; art historian, critic and teacher Dr Anne M. Wagner; and curator of the exhibition, YSP's Director of Programme, Clare Lilley.
