Kathryn Sherriff: Porcelain Espresso Mug

By The Line Pottery - All of Kathryn’s work starts by being thrown and turned on the pottery wheel. Each piece is then decorated using coloured slips with inlaid line and sgraffito techniques before they are bisc-fired and glazed, leaving any undecorated exterior surfaces raw. After the final glaze firing they are returned to the wheel and the raw surfaces are diamond polished until they achieve a marble-like, smooth, tactile surface.

Every piece made is designed for everyday use in the home. Each piece is high fired in an electric kiln to 1260 degrees making it food safe, however we do not recommend putting items in the dishwasher.
