William Kentridge: Zoetrope Animation Kit

This Zoetrope Animation Kit take inspiration from several of William Kentridge’s artworks. A zoetrope is a pre-film animation device that produces the illusion of motion by displaying a sequence of drawings or photographs in quick succession.

Under the direction of graphic designer and founder, Pauline Irvine, the mission of Artymiss is to create extraordinary paper artwork. Renowned for quality and attention to detail, Artymiss combines great design with laser cut technology to create truly unique pieces.

William Kentridge is known for his work across a range of media, including drawing, animated films, theatre and opera productions. His practice questions grand narratives from history, politics, science, literature and music, alongside an ongoing interrogation of the legacy of colonialism. His work references avant-garde movements such as Dada and Surrealism in his celebration of the illogical and darkly humorous.
